Prices of electronic goods and gadgets have really come down in the last few years. With the US going into a recession, we can
expect to see more price reductions in the months ahead.
What is the world coming to when it’s cheaper to buy a brand new printer than a printer cartridge? There are some deals where the net cost of a new printer is zero. You pay for it upfront then you send in a mail-in rebate for the price that you paid. A lot of my friends prefer to dispose of their old printer when they run out of ink, instead of buying a new cartridge. I don’t blame them because when you buy a new printer, there is a cartridge included in the box. The printer cartridge alone will cost you as much as the printer, so why use a new printer cartridge in an old printer when you can get a new printer instead?
This sort of thinking is not good, especially for our landfills which are filling up with computers, printers, cathode-ray tubes, etc. But try to change that kind of thinking and you’ll end up paying more than you have to for less. That’s what we’re all about - ‘don’t pay more than you have to’.
